Katherine Kersten does it again
Does she do no fact checking whatsoever? Today on her blog, Katherine Kersten copies and pastes a PowerLIne blog entry that indicates there haven’t been any successful terrorist attacks against the U.S. or our interests since 2003.
Of course, this is pure nonsense. The list omits any attacks against Americans or our interests in Iraq and Afghanistan. It also misses a number of attacks that should be counted.
Here are some of the items missed:
2002: Kidnap and murder of Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, car bomb outside of U.S. Embassy in Peru (9 killed), car bomb outside of a U.S. Consulate in Pakistan (12 killed), and the Bali bombings (one of the bombs was detonated outside of a U.S. Consulate office).
2003:Bombing of a Marriott in Indonesia (12 killed)
2004: 29 killed in attacks on American and Western oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, 5 killed in bombing at U.S. Consulate in Jeddah.
2005: 20 killed in another round of Bali bombings, one of which detonated outside a Four Seasons hotel.
2006: U.S. Diplomat killed by a car bomb in Pakistan.
2007: Rocket fired at the U.S. Embassy in Greece.
Kersten should be ashamed of such partisan, nonsensical tripe. Of course, it’s evident she has no such shame.
