Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Joe

There’s really no reason left for Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats to accept Joe Lieberman in their caucus anymore.  If Lieberman is going to throw the party under the bus the way he did in today’s Wall Street Journal, the Dems should show some backbone and kick him out.

Sure, control of the Senate could tip for a few meaningless months before the election — and Democrats will be able to filibuster everything the Republicans try to do up to that point.

But, it would be worth it to send the message that we’re not going to let this guy make a mockery of the party anymore.  If he wants to go against a majority of the public and walk in lock step with Bush and McCain, we should walk him over the to the Republican caucus and tell him that’s where he belongs.
